Do Possible Loans Build Credit History?
Summary
Can a Possible Loan help improve your credit history? In this video, Uzunma explains how Possible reports your loan activity to TransUnion and Experian, and how on-time payments can add to your credit history over time. We also cover how grace periods work, what gets reported (and when), and why it can take up to 60 days for changes to show on your report. While scores depend on many factors, consistent on-time payments are one of the best ways to build a solid credit history—and with Possible, your progress is on the record.

On-time payments can help build credit history, but is a better score guaranteed with the Possible Loan? Not exactly. Let's break down how it works.
Unlike some other loans, we report your loan payments to credit bureaus, TransUnion and Experian.
That's what puts your payment activity on the record.
It's part of how we deliver on our promise to benefit your financial health.
Building a history of payments helps bureaus and other lenders understand you and your borrowing habits.
We report all your payments, so that includes your on-time payments and any late or missed payments too, but only after our 29-day grace period has passed.
While we can't guarantee a credit score boost, on-time payments are one of the most consistent ways to build credit history and help lenders get to know your habits.
Your credit score might go up when you're using Possible, or it might not.
Credit scores are based on a bunch of factors, and bureaus don't share the exact formula.
Now, a note on timing. We only report loan status to credit bureaus at the beginning of each month for the previous month.
That gives you time to catch up if you've fallen behind.
Let's talk through an example. Say you had a payment due on January 1st and January 15th. Those get reported early February. If you finished paying in February, the loan shows as closed in March's report. It can take a while, up to 60 days, for your report to reflect the update. That part is in the credit bureau's hands.
Accuracy on your credit report is really important. Make sure you review your credit report periodically and make sure it all looks good.
If something's not right, reach out to the lender and let them know.
If your credit isn't where you want it to be, that's okay. You're welcome here at Possible.
There's no FICO check when you apply for a Possible Loan. So applying won't hurt your score, even if you're denied.
Your loan amount isn't based on your FICO score either. Your income, cash flow, and consistent habits count towards every application.
We built Possible to help you move forward, not hold you back.
Have questions about how credit reporting works? We're here.
